"Play is the most natural method of self-healing that childhood affords"

                                                                                                                                     Erik Erickson, Child Psychoanalyst

Play is children's principle and easiest form of communication.

Therapy through play allows your child to explore their world, and their place within it, at their own pace. Through play past and current issues impacting your child can be explored and worked through.  Therapy through play helps children address anxiety and other emotionally overwhelming feelings without needing words to express their feelings.

Building a relationship through child-led play provides your child opportunities for change by encountering different experiences, experimenting in a safe environment and exploring their own skills and resources. Therapy through play helps your child to learn more about who they are and to accept differences in others.  Through play your child can develop key relationship skills such as trust, empathy, sharing and working together.

The specially designed therapy room is equipped with a wide variety of toys, games, role play and creative materials to allow your child to express themselves in different ways.  I offer your child the acceptance, genuineness, care, trust, respect and honesty, with appropriate boundaries to keep us both safe, to allow them to:

  • Be more aware of their feelings and the feelings of others
  • Develop an ability to describe their feelings
  • Feel more confident to express difficult feelings
  • Develop more socially appropriate behaviour
